Juliette Valentin is a French director of photography and colorist based between Paris and Berlin.
After studying social sciences in a French preparatory class (CPGE) and then philosophy at Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, she turned to filmmaking and specialized in cinematography, going on to study film and audiovisual arts at Paris I and at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá. A graduate of the EICTV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, she also trained at La Fémis in Paris.
Her background has led her to work primarily within international cinema. Her eye is shaped by a deep love of classic film, a strong affinity for arthouse and experimental cinema, and a genuine interest in fashion advertising. She has worked on auteur fiction, socially engaged documentaries, installations by visual artists, television fiction, music videos, and fashion projects, and takes real pleasure in exploring new creative territory.
Fluent in French, English, and Spanish, she continues to develop her German.

Juliette Valentin est une directrice de la photographie et étalonneuse française, établie entre Paris et Berlin.
Après des études de sciences sociales en classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles, puis de philosophie à l’Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, elle s’oriente vers le cinéma et se spécialise en direction de la photographie, poursuivant des études d’arts cinématographiques et audiovisuels à Paris I, puis à l’Université Nationale de Colombie à Bogota. Diplômée de l’Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) de San Antonio de los Baños à Cuba, elle a également suivi l’enseignement de La Fémis à Paris.
Du fait de son parcours, elle évolue principalement dans un cinéma international. Son regard est nourri par une grande cinéphilie des classiques, un goût marqué pour les films d’auteur et le cinéma expérimental, mais aussi un réel intérêt pour la publicité de mode. Elle a travaillé sur des fictions d’auteur, des documentaires engagés, des installations d’artistes plasticiens, des fictions télévisées, des clips de musique et des projets de mode, et trouve un grand plaisir à explorer de nouveaux horizons.
Parlant couramment français, anglais et espagnol, elle continue à se perfectionner en allemand.

Juliette Valentin es directora de fotografía y colorista francesa, radicada entre París y Berlín.
Tras estudiar ciencias sociales en una clase preparatoria (CPGE) y luego filosofía en la Universidad París I Panthéon-Sorbonne, se orientó hacia el cine y se especializó en dirección de fotografía, cursando estudios de artes cinematográficas y audiovisuales en París I y en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, en Bogotá. Egresada de la EICTV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión) de San Antonio de los Baños, en Cuba, también se formó en La Fémis, en París.
Su trayectoria la ha llevado a desenvolverse principalmente en el cine internacional. Su mirada está nutrida por una gran cinefilia hacia los clásicos, un marcado gusto por el cine de autor y el cine experimental, y también un interés genuino por la publicidad de moda. Ha trabajado en ficciones de autor, documentales comprometidos, instalaciones de artistas plásticos, ficciones televisivas, videoclips musicales y proyectos de moda, y disfruta enormemente explorar nuevos horizontes creativos.
Habla con fluidez francés, inglés y español, y continúa perfeccionando su alemán.

Juliette Valentin ist eine französische Kamerafrau (Director of Photography) und Coloristin, die zwischen Paris und Berlin lebt und arbeitet.
Nach einem Studium der Sozialwissenschaften in einer classe préparatoire (CPGE) und anschließend der Philosophie an der Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne wandte sie sich dem Film zu und spezialisierte sich auf Kamera. Sie setzte ihr Studium der Film- und audiovisuellen Künste an der Paris I sowie an der Nationaluniversität Kolumbiens in Bogotá fort. Sie ist Absolventin der EICTV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión) in San Antonio de los Baños, Kuba, und hat außerdem an der La Fémis in Paris studiert.
Ihr Werdegang führte sie vor allem ins internationale Kino. Ihr Blick ist geprägt von einer großen Leidenschaft für klassische Filme, einer ausgeprägten Vorliebe für Autorenfilme und experimentelles Kino, aber auch von echtem Interesse an Modewerbung. Sie hat an Autorenfilmen, engagierten Dokumentarfilmen, Installationen bildender Künstler, Fernsehfiktionen, Musikvideos und Modeprojekten mitgewirkt und findet große Freude daran, neue Horizonte zu erkunden.

She studied Cinematic and Audio-visual Art at the University Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne and during a year of exchange at the National University of Colombia in Bogota.
Graduated from the Escuela International de Cine y Television (EICTV) of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba, she also studied at La Fémis in Paris. She has always been driven by the desire to travel, to discover the other side of the world and meet different cultures, always with a camera at hand as a way to record the experience of the encounter of a place or a person. She practices film photography since her teens.

Juliette Valentin es una fotógrafa, directora de fotografia y colorista nacida en París y actualmente radicada en Berlín. Tras estudiar Ciencias Sociales en CPGE y Filosofía en la Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, se orientó hacia los estudios cinematográficos, especializándose en fotografía. Estudió artes cinematográficas y audiovisuales en la Universidad de París I Panthéon- Sorbonne, y posteriormente en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en Bogotá.
Diplomada por la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) de San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba), también estudió en La Fémis de París. Siempre le ha movido el deseo de viajar, de descubrir el otro lado del mundo y de conocer diferentes culturas, siempre con una cámara en la mano, para compartir la experiencia del encuentro con un lugar o una persona. Practica la fotografía análoga desde hace unos diez años.

Juliette Valentin ist eine in Paris geborene Fotografin, Kamerafrau und Koloristin, die derzeit in Berlin lebt. Nach ihrem Studium der Sozialwissenschaften an der Vorbereitungsschule für Grandes Ecoles und anschließenden Philosophiestudiums an der Universität Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne wandte sie sich der Filmwissenschaft zu und spezialisierte sich auf Fotografieregie. Sie studierte Filmkunst und audiovisuelle Künste an der Universität Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne und anschließend an der Nationalen Universität von Kolumbien in Bogota.
Als Absolventin die Escuela International de Cine y Television (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños in Kuba studierte sie außerdem an der La Fémis in Paris. Ihr Antrieb war schon immer der Wunsch zu reisen, die andere Seite der Welt zu entdecken und verschiedene Kulturen kennenzulernen, immer mit der Kamera in der Hand, um die Erfahrung der Begegnung mit einem Ort oder einer Person zu teilen. Sie praktiziert seit etwa zehn Jahren Filmfotografie.
